The tour from the historical lands of China where the Han Chinese are the majority ethnic group to the "Roof of the World" where it is the home to the indigenous Tibetan people will go through many different beautiful scenery and ethnic cultures. By taking the world's highest railway, travelers will enjoy a fine view of the well-preserved local unique heritages, most cloudless sky, majestic ranges of Snow Mountains and bluest lake water from the train windows. • Welcome to Lhasa! After arrival, clearing the Customs and retrieving baggage by yourself, you will be met by your Tour Guide in the Arrival Hall who is holding a sign on which it says your name. And then transferred by your private car/van to your downtown hotel  (2-hour drive). After check-in in your hotel you may have a good rest to get acclimated to the high altitude. Later you will make an easy stroll in the Norbulingka Park, the summer palace of Dalai Lamas. A welcome dinner will be served in your hotel.

• In this moning, you will first go to the splendid Potala Palace-the landmark of Lhasa. After lunch head for the sacred Jokhang Monastery. Out of the Jokhang, you are right in the center of the fascinating Barkhor Street, lined with the stalls of the outdoor market where all kinds of goods can be sold. Enjoy a stroll in the busy Barkhor Street.

• Today you will first visit two of the three great Gelugpa monasteries in Lhasa: the Sera Monastery and the Drepung Monastery. Afterwards proceed to the Tibet Museum.

• After breakfast, drive towards Gyantse (about 260km, ca. 5 hrs)  via the Yamdrok Tso Lake.  On the way you will stop to visit a Tibetan Family. After your arrival in Gyantse, you will visit the famous Palkhor Monastery (also called Pelkhor Choede) and its beautiful Kumbum Pagoda, the landmark of Gyantse. Finally you'll head  for Shigatse (about 90km, 1.5-hour drive).  Upon your arrival, dinner will be served in your hotel.

• First you will visit the the second largest monastery of Gelugpa - the Tashilhunpo Monastery, then proceed to a local free market to have a look. After lunch, you'll be driven to Shegar, also called Shegar (about 290km, ca. 5-hour drive). Be free after your arrival in new Tingri.

• This morning you will  drive to the Mt. Everest (about 100km, 3-4 hour drive), where you will visit the Rongbuk Monastery, followed by a visit to the Mt. Everest Base Camp to get a closer look at this great mountain. If the weather is clear enough, you can view the world`s largest and best preserved glacier, the Rongbu Glacier, from the base camp. Stay overnight at the Guanjingtai Guesthouse.

• Today you will drive back to Shigatse (about 400km, 7-hour drive). On the way you`ll pay a visit to the  famous Sakya Monastery.

• Today you`ll drive along the Yarlung Zangbo River back to Lhasa (about 280km, 6-hour drive). After arrival at Lhasa and a short rest in your hotel, a farewell dinner will be served at a Tibetan restaurant for you to enjoy local food with traditional Tibetan singing and dancing
